In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Session

As a wedding photographer, I have the joy of photographing couples on one of the happiest days of their lives. It’s an honor to document couples’ relationship journeys, starting with their engagement session, and then, as they start their chapter together as husband and wife. However, one of my favorite parts of wedding photography isn’t the wedding itself, but getting to stick around with my couples afterwards and capture their anniversary, maternity, newborn, and family photos! Needless to say, when one of my previous 2020 couples asked me to capture their first child during this in-home lifestyle newborn session, I was over the moon!

Their sweet little girl was content, wrapped in the arms of mom and dad. She was so sweet and looked adorable in all her cute outfits and headbands! One of the joys of newborns is all their tiny, delicate features. Newborns grow so quickly, which is why it is crucial to document these early days! This adorable baby girl was awake for most of the session, but slowly drifted off to sleep towards the end. I loved capturing her sleepy expressions and the love and contentment on the faces of her parents.

When it comes to newborn photography, I prefer the lifestyle vibe as opposed to the perfectly wrapped and posed baby photos. Lifestyle sessions allow you to snuggle close to your baby and enjoy the moment in the comfort of your own home. I also love including the new parents with their baby in the photos! After all, this new stage of life isn’t just about your baby, it’s about growing as a family and what that also means for you as a couple. Capturing these precious moments for my former wedding couples and being a part of these milestones means the world to me. It was an absolute joy to capture this beautiful growing family and provide them with memories of this sweet season of life!
