Educational Photography Workshop Recap

I am bursting with excitement to share my experience and take aways from my very first in-person educational workshop that ended last week. This Educational Photography Workshop was geared for both senior and wedding photographers! The five ladies that attended my workshop were phenomenal! They were not only amazing photographers, but sweet, genuine people. Even though we were together only three days, many inside jokes were exchanged and new friendships were formed. I loved the deep and insightful late night chats that occurred about more than just photography, but mindset and how the right one can transform your business.

Part of the workshop included updated headshots of all the ladies! As we went over in the workshop, updating your headshots periodically is an important part of your business!

Educational Photography Workshop: Day 1

These ladies came ready to work and learn. I love that they were so eager! On Wednesday, the first day of the workshop, we focused on senior photography. We went over content related to client experience, marketing, spokesmodel teams, how to break into the market vs. scaling up, and how to handle sticky situations. We ended our day with a styled shoot of a few beautiful seniors (who happen to be past senior spokesmodels of mine!). I even captured some behind the scenes photos of the attendees in action!

Day 2

The second day was similar to the first, but with a focus on weddings! After the presented content, we had another styled wedding shoot with two distinct and different looks. One look featured vibrant and bold colors that were enchanting. The second was an earthy, boho look. I wanted to make sure the attendees left with tons of portfolio building content! As you can see in the photos, there is a lot that goes on behind the camera to get the perfect shot! The styled wedding shoot turned out beautifully, even though it started to rain! My adorable Finn also made an appearance in a few photos!

The local vendors and models really came through for me! Lavo Beauty Co.  was the makeup artist behind all the photo sessions and KW Salon was on hair duty!  Local florist Anaphora Flowers, created gorgeous floral arrangements for our styled weddings. Her work always blows me away! I am so grateful to have local business owners like these that I can count on and collaborate with!

The Final Day

Friday, the last day of the educational photography workshop was a little more low key but just as busy! We focused on editing photos and the group got to learn ALLLLL my editing secrets. After giving away my secrets, we exchanged teary-eyed goodbyes.  I love how close we all got during these three days together. As I reflect on the entire workshop, I am overwhelmed with gratitude! Meeting and teaching these amazing photographers brought me so much joy and I know I will never forget the memories we made. I am already excitedly dreaming and planning my next workshop!
