Outsourcing Your Business | 4 Signs It Is Time to Outsource

Today on the blog, we are going to hear from my Content writer, Brittany! She is a content writer and online business manager, who runs her small business, Strive to Shine! Read on to learn more about her and what she does for businesses, as well as what she has to say about outsourcing and what it can do for your business!

Outsourcing Your Business

When it comes to running a small business I think we can all agree that there is A LOT to do! While tasks vary depending on what your business does, there comes a pivotal point where you realize you can no longer do it all. Outsourcing is the solution for business owners looking to gain their time back, focus more on the tasks they enjoy, and grow their business!

As a natural helper, I started my business with the goal of helping others achieve their business goals and dreams! I wanted to help business owners Shine! As a content creator, I mainly write for businesses or design graphics! My usual tasks include writing and preparing blogs, creating downloads, writing and designing workbooks, guides, courses, and designing Pinterest graphics!  I also offer services for editing and proofreading, which I love to do!

Most businesses eventually hit a point where it is time to outsource, but sometimes they resist because they think it is not attainable! It often relates to financial matters. However, after talking to several business owners who have outsourced, as well as clients that I assist, outsourcing is the secret that helped them grow and move forward in business! Sometimes, it ends up costing you more by not outsourcing.

Here are 4 signs it might be time for you to outsource!

Outsourcing Your Business | 4 Signs It Is Time to Outsource

01. Your To-Do List is Never-Ending

No one realizes all that goes into a business at first. However, if you want to grow your business, that just creates more to do! The most common business tasks include social media, blogging, website updates, answering emails, and that is without even adding in the tasks that directly relate to your business like scheduling clients or preparing the product or service you offer … oh, and don’t forget to keep up with your bookkeeping!  I could go on about all the things that need done, but I think you probably already know! If you are trying to do all of these items everyday, it will eventually lead to feelings of overwhelm and burnout.  I encourage all business owners out there to delegate before you get to that point!

02. You’re Constantly Overwhelmed

When clients reach out to me, they are usually overwhelmed and stressed because they have been doing it all on their own (see above!). They feel as though they never have enough time in general, and especially not for those projects or tasks they want to do. If you find yourself close to or at the stage of burnout, it is time to start looking for someone who can help! It is okay to admit you can’t do it all alone! There are amazing people out there who want to help you!

03. You Dread Certain Tasks

If you read point number three, and a task instantly popped into your head, that is the first thing to outsource! Delegate the tasks you hate first! That will grant you instant joy and time! If you are stuck doing something you can’t stand, many will eventually start to skip the task altogether, or drag it out because they procrastinate! For many of my clients, they HATE to write! Good News-I LOVE to write! Taking that task off their plate, frees not only their time, but their mental space to focus on more important items!

04. You Have BIG Dreams

I think most entrepreneurs start out with a big dream, but that dream changes over time. Your business grows, shifts, and pivots, just as we do in life! As business goals change it will create a whole new slew of tasks. A lot of entrepreneurs I know have dreams of launching new products, courses, podcasts, or even an entire new business! Regardless of the dreams you have for your business, in order to accomplish them and focus on what needs to be done, you need someone to help with the other essential business tasks that keep things running.

If you felt your head nodding in agreement, as you read through these four items, it might be time to start thinking about what outsourcing could mean for you and your business! While it is a huge step, it is a critical one! I also understand that it can be SCARY to hand over your “baby” to someone else. Let’s face it, us business owners are basically raising a baby that we have cared for, nurtured, and watched grow. Letting someone else step in to help is hard, but I promise it is worth it!
