Spring has finally arrived and I’ve had the joy of spending this month with several couples capturing their engagement portraits! Many of these couples have weddings within the next year or so, and wanted a spring vibe to their session! I am thrilled to share some highlights from my busy month of May capturing these gorgeous New England spring engagements.
One thing I love about engagement sessions is the opportunity to explore new locations, get to know my couples better, and chat about all things weddings! These sessions took me to different spots all over New England, from picturesque parks to quaint downtown streets. Each couple brought their own unique style and personality, and it was so much fun getting to know them better and capturing their love in these beautiful settings.
Engagement Session Benefits
Engagement sessions are not just about pretty photos; they are an important part of the wedding photography experience for a number of reasons, which is why they are included in both my wedding packages. For starters, they give us a chance to get to know each other on a personal level. This means that on your big day, you won’t feel like a stranger is following you around with a camera. Instead, you’ll be more comfortable and relaxed, which makes for better photos!
Engagement sessions also allow me to get to know you as a couple and how you interact with each other. This information is invaluable when it comes to posing and directing you on your wedding day. By understanding your personalities and natural chemistry, I can create poses that feel natural and authentic, rather than stiff and posed.
Lastly, engagement sessions are a chance for you to practice being in front of the camera and get to know my shooting and posing style. By the time your wedding day arrives, you’ll be old pros at this, which means we can focus on capturing all the special moments without any awkwardness or nervousness.
