When it comes to planning an outdoor wedding, weather is always a concern. For Claire and Justin’s Millstone Hill summer wedding we were all watching our weather apps as it was supposed to thunderstorm all day. Thankfully, those storms ended up passing us by and we had perfect weather all day! This was great, not only because we were able to have their ceremony outside as planned, but we could also truly enjoy the stunning Vermont views from the venue.
Justin got ready at their home which was a short drive from the venue. Their two adorable dogs were very excited to be a part of the getting ready process! Meanwhile, Claire got ready on site in the farmhouse. She wore a gorgeous off-shoulder wedding dress with a beautiful bouquet of white flowers featuring pops of pink – a gorgeous summer bouquet!
Claire and Justin shared a sweet first look outside. Afterwards, we took as many photos as possible before their ceremony so that they could fully enjoy time with their guests. Between the gardens and the mountains in the background, the natural beauty around the venue was breathtaking.
Millstone Hill Summer Wedding
The touching ceremony took place outside surrounded by a landscape of blooming flowers. I was seriously blown away by the beauty and am still so happy that Claire and Justin were able to have the outdoor wedding they envisioned.
Once they were officially Mr. and Mrs., the newlyweds enjoyed cocktail hour, which flowed right into their reception. Instead of the traditional grand entrances or dances, they had their siblings give a few toasts to kick off the night, all of which paid great tributes to them as individuals and their relationship. These two are so good together and share the sweetest love. I loved hearing all the kind words spoken about them!
As the evening got underway, we escaped the hustle and bustle of the night for a few sunset portraits. The perfect weather of the day continued, blessing us with the most beautiful golden hour and sunset. Millstone Hill had so many spots to explore and it was refreshing to get outside and give the newlyweds a breather together. We made some magic as we enjoyed the venue’s landscape before returning to eat some Ben and Jerry’s – in true Vermont fashion! It was quite literally the “sweetest” ending to a perfect wedding day!
Claire and Justin, thank you for choosing me to capture your special day! It was such an honor to witness your love and document your love story. Cheers to a lifetime of love and happiness!
