Garden Inspired Connecticut Wedding | Sarah + Ben

Sarah and Ben’s Garden Inspired Connecticut Wedding was filled with sentimental, beautiful moments. I know the couple will carry the memories from these images with them and cherish them forever. The heartfelt moments were brought to life through the exquisite, and well thought out details of their wedding. To start the day, Sarah got ready with her bridesmaids. As they got ready, I captured a few details including, the bride’s hair clip which was originally a part of her mom’s headpiece from her wedding. In addition, Sarah also repurposed her mom’s wedding dress for her own wedding gown!

Sentimental Wedding Details

I absolutely love that she chose to use her mom’s wedding dress and make it her own, mixing a little bit of something new and something old all in one! The bride also wore a beautiful bracelet and necklace that belonged to her grandmother. Her grandmother had received the jewelry as a gift from her grandfather. Her mom and bridesmaids helped Sarah into her wedding dress and with her final touches before heading to her childhood church, St. Joseph Church in Bristol, Connecticut for their wedding ceremony.

It was at the grand St. Joseph Catholic Church that Sarah grew up attending where her and Ben exchanged vows. After their joyous wedding ceremony, the couple were greeted with a flurry of bubbles floating through the air as they exited the church!

Before leaving the church, we grabbed images of the bridal party together. Elegant lavender, white, and green flower bouquets accented the bridesmaids’ floor-length, sage dresses.

Next, we headed to Elizabeth Park Conservancy for Sarah and Ben’s wedding portraits, the exact location where Sarah’s parents had their wedding pictures taken! It is easy to see why the couple wanted to go back to this lovely location for their own wedding portraits. Elizabeth Park is home to the most magical flower gardens spread across tons of acreage. I could have photographed them there all day! We explored the grounds together and captured some truly stunning, timeless images in the gardens.

After their garden wedding portraits, we headed to Sarah’s aunt and uncle’s house, which has always been like a home away from home for her. There, in their backyard, they hosted Sarah and Ben’s reception, which was perfect in every way. They carried the garden theme throughout the reception, with flower decorated arches and a firefly fingerprint guestbook.  To top it off, Old World Pizza Truck was there serving the most delicious pizza, as well as a full service Mobile Drinkery set up by The Liquorist MD.  The rest of the evening was spent enjoying and celebrating the endless love of this amazing couple!
