Intimate Backyard Fall Wedding in Hudson, NH | Emily + Zack

I recently had the honor of capturing my cousin, Emily’s, beautiful wedding day! It meant so much to me that her and now husband, Zack, asked me to be their wedding photographer! We were always close growing up, and Emily, her sister, Leah, and I all have a shared love for dogs and animals. Needless to say, capturing their intimate backyard fall wedding was extra special for all of us! There were so many personal touches to their big day that added significance and made it that much more meaningful!

Emily and Zack each got ready in separate spaces of their home. After getting ready, they met outside for their first look in an area covered by golden yellow leaves. The fallen autumn leaves created a picture-perfect backdrop for their wedding portraits! The bridal party wore beautiful royal purple & emerald green dresses. The wedding bouquets and boutineers were a mixture of white, purple and green sola wood flowers, which were hand dyed and put together by Emily, Leah, and their mom!

As I mentioned before, Emily is a dog lover like myself. I was thrilled when she told me all three of her dogs would be joining in the wedding day festivities! They have a beautiful golden retriever, a husky, and sweet mutt, named Tank, all of which looked dapper in their doggie tuxedos. Tank  was actually Emily’s dog before she and Zack started dating, but he has become both of their “soul dog”. To honor their sweet “soul dog”, I captured a few solo shots of the three of them together!

Tank also had the honor of walking Emily down the aisle to Zack and the other two pups waiting at the altar! Emily and Zack exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends under a wooden wedding arch. My mom, Emily’s aunt, actually officiated the ceremony, which caused an equal amount of laughter and tears for everyone!

After their intimate fall backyard wedding, everyone celebrated under their outdoor tented reception surrounded by the warm autumn colors. Emily’s mom also made their wedding cake, which Tank kept a close eye on and even supervised the cake cutting from under the table! Then, to end their wonderful wedding day, we sent the newlyweds off with sparklers!

This was such an amazing wedding, not only because it was family, but because it was filled with so many personal touches and sentimental moments. It was a day brimming with joy, love, and laughter.

It brings me so much joy to have been a part of my cousin’s wedding day and officially have Zack as part of the family. Zack looks at Emily the way that every girl wants to be looked at.  There is literally nothing but pure love in his eyes and you can just tell he is head over heels for her, as is Emily for him. Their wedding was a beautiful celebration of their love for one another and their future together!
