Gender Reveal Party for Alysa and Donnie

One of my 2020 couples, Alysa and Donnie, had to postpone their wedding to next year due to COVID-19. I was so bummed at first that I wouldn’t be able to see them for a another year! But shortly after they made this decision, I received a text from Alysa that informed me that they were expecting! They were going to be having a gender reveal party in a few weeks and they wanted me there to capture all of the excitement. I nearly jumped off my couch when I received this message, I was SO happy for them!

Two weeks later, I arrived at their party, ready to photograph this momentous occasion. Alysa’s mom had created the most perfect backdrop for the reveal, straight out of Pinterest! They had their closest family and friends with them, eagerly waiting for the news as well. Everyone wore a shirt that either read “team pink” or “team blue”. After taking a few family portraits, the confetti poppers were handed out. Everyone gathered around Alysa and Donnie. On the count of three, everyone aimed their poppers and set them off, revealing BLUE confetti! Alysa and Donnie’s reactions were truly priceless, and I feel so blessed that I was able to be there and capture it all. There was so much love and joy in that backyard. It truly made my heart swell. I remember thinking, “it’s moments like THESE that make me feel so grateful to call this my job”.

Alysa and Donnie, congratulations again on your expanding family! I’m so happy for you two, and I’m even more excited to capture your wedding next year with your new baby in attendance.
