I am loving this fall wedding season so much – the colors, the energy, and of course the people! I just adore all of the amazing couples I get to meet and work with! Sarah and Cody are one of those couples that were just so sweet and fun to be around. Their fall Wedding at Barn Lights started and ended at the beautiful Southern Maine wedding venue. I love venues where everything is onsite – it makes planning so much easier and the day less stressful for the couple!
Fall Wedding at Barn Lights in Maine
Both got ready onsite in separate cottages. Sarah got ready with her best gals in matching green pajamas, which were so so cute! Her mom helped her into her dress and they shared a special moment together before the bride’s separate first looks with her dad and step dad, which were both equally touching. They were moved to tears as they saw her in her dress and she gave them thoughtful gifts!
Afterwards, Sarah shared one more first look; this time with her future husband! It was a sweet, tear-filled moment as they exchanged private vows nestled in the woods. The venue features 50 acres of forests and fields, providing a variety of beautiful backdrops and natural scenery. The yellow barn also added a wonderful pop of color to some of the photos, especially for the autumn season. The forest green bridesmaids dresses were the perfect color for pictures in front of the barn!
Outdoor Wedding Ceremony
The outdoor wedding ceremony took place on the lawn where the golden sun added a warm glow. During the ceremony, they also included an Irish tradition called the warming of the rings ceremony, where the wedding bands are passed down the front row to immediate family for them to give a blessing. It was such a sweet and memorable moment, and a creative way to involve their loved ones! More happy tears were shed during the ceremony, giving way to smiles and celebration as Cody and Sarah exited as husband and wife!
Elegant Barn Reception
Inside the barn for their reception, Sarah shared dances with both her dad and her step dad. Then, she gifted her mom her bridal bouquet as a “thank you” for everything, instead of the traditional bouquet toss. Since most wedding day events focus on “father-daughter” moments, it was really sweet to see her involve her mom in such a special way.
To end this perfect day, I stole the newlyweds away for golden hour portraits. There was already so much vibrant color on the trees! It was gorgeous and a great addition to their newlywed photos!
Sarah and Cody, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your day. It brought me so much joy to photograph your wedding – it was magical! Cheers to you both!
