Taking the Time for Winter Adventures with Finn

It’s that time of year where winter is in full swing, and I am totally OVER it.

I’m ready for the sun to come out, the warmth to come back, and to see grass again. The one thing that keeps me going through this chilly season is my daily walk with my boy, Finn. I have to bundle up well, but our walks together are one of my favorite parts of the day. It’s so relaxing to have this time where I can simply enjoy the beauty of nature with my little bundle of joy (seriously though, he’s ALWAYS happy).

Lately, our favorite option is to walk to the end of my street, where there is a nice snowmobile path through the woods. Once we get deep enough into the trail, I can let him off leash. He will run to his heart’s content, which is basically the entire time. Occasionally I will even toss a snowball for him to chase after, but I immediately feel guilty when he loses it in the snow. A few days ago, it was unusually warm, so we spent an extra long time outside together. I tied his red bandana around his neck, much to his chagrin, and put my camera around mine. I hadn’t taken many photos of him with my DSLR since he was very young, so it was great to get some new shots of his handsome face!

Here are a few of my favorites from my winter time walk with Finn…

One of his favorite things to do in the snow is to shove his entire face into a snowbank repeatedly. I guess there’s something about the feeling of a snowy face that he likes!
