Nara and Sam had their vintage winter wedding at the Stonehurst Manor, and it was MAGICAL. While I was driving to the venue that morning, I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful bluebird skies and the fresh white snow, and I just knew it was going to be a perfect day. It was so clear and bright outside that you could even see the top of Mount Washington, which rarely happens!
Nara and Sam wanted their wedding to have a vintage, roaring 20’s theme. We are back in the 20’s now after all! Her dress was beautifully beaded along with her bridesmaids’ dresses, and she wore a vintage headpiece in place of a veil. Each of the guys carried a pocket watch (a gift from Sam!), which tied perfectly into the theme. In place of bouquets, Nara created beautiful ceramic roses for each of her bridesmaids to hold. Talk about artistic and sentimental!
Their wedding reception was equally vintage and artistic. As gifts to the guests, Nara crafted adorable ceramic plates. In place of a DJ, the couple brought their own record player to play their favorite vinyl music. The couple also brought their typewriter from home so that guests could type sweet messages for them. Nara and Sam also opted out of the classic wedding cake, and chose a donut tower from The Holy Donut instead! They always stop at this donut shop whenever they pass through Portland, so it was very important to them that they incorporate it into their big day. The donuts were so good, it always surprises me that they’re made from potatoes!
Nara and Sam, thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to capture your special day. It was such a blessing to be able to witness the love between you two. You both genuinely made me cry and laugh so hard with your touching stories and great senses of humor!
