Rachel and Alec just recently booked me for their wedding next summer, and as soon as they did, we got their engagement session in the books! I can’t emphasize enough how important engagement sessions are to your wedding photography experience. Not only is your engagement session a fun excuse for you to dress up and go on an adventure, but it allows you to get to know your photographer and how they work! It helps you get comfortable with posing in front of their camera, which makes the portraits on the wedding day so much faster and easier.
My original plan for Rachel and Alec’s summer engagement session was to explore Prescott Park in Portsmouth. This location has SO many colorful flowers, which tied in nicely to Rachel’s vision of vibrant wildflowers for her wedding day! However, New England weather is wicked moody, and just as I was about to head to Portsmouth, I noticed coastal storms moving in on the weather channel. I texted her as quickly as I could to see if they’d be up for a last minute location switch, and they were! We decided to try out Pleasant View Gardens in Loudon instead, which ended up working PERFECTLY with Rachel’s vision. We beat the rain, had loads of fun, and I am beyond thrilled with how their photos turned out! I am so lucky to have such awesome couples who are down for anything. Because of their flexibility, we were able to create magic!
Here are some of my favorite shots from their summer engagement session…
And outfit number two 🙂 I love when my couples bring both a dressy look, and a casual look. It helps add variety to our posing options and the final gallery!
I absolutely cannot wait for Rachel and Alec’s wedding next year. They already have so many fun things planned, I’m pumped!
Additionally, I’d like to thank Kelli from Glowing Moon Beauty for doing such an awesome job on Rachel’s makeup. It looked incredible!
