Purple and Pewter Summer Wedding In Fall River

I had been not-so-patiently waiting for Sara and Alex’s wedding day for so long! Sara contacted me back in November about capturing her big day, and we clicked so well after our very first phone call. Their summer wedding was going to be outdoors with a beautiful view of Cook Pond in Fall River. After months of planning, their big day FINALLY arrived. When I showed up to the house where Sara and her bridesmaids were getting ready, I was immediately blown away. The warmest hugs and smiles welcomed me in, and they acted if they had known me their whole life. Everything from the dress, to the shoes, to the ring was picture perfect. I immediately started capturing every detail. The girls even had matching purple getting ready robes, which was the most perfect finishing touch.

bridal getting ready details After the girls finished getting ready, we all headed over to the venue, McGovern’s on the Water in Fall River. The groom and his groomsmen were already there, patiently waiting for the girls to arrive. When Sara pulled in to the parking lot, Alex was promptly hidden and guarded to make sure that he did not see his bride before the ceremony. Sara and Alex opted out of the “first look”, and came up with a more special and creative idea instead! Right before the ceremony, they stood on opposite sides of a wall and held hands around the corner. Without looking at one another, they shared an intimate prayer.

After sharing this private moment together, the ceremony began! Despite the impending rain, the couple wanted their ceremony to be outside with a gorgeous view of the water. While Sara’s brother, Billy, played the cello, the bridal party came down one by one. Sara’s father escorted his daughter down the aisle, and you could tell by the look in Alex’s eyes when he saw his bride that he was more than ready to be married to her. Their ceremony was filled with sweetness, laughs, and prayers.

The rain came in quickly after the ceremony, so we finished up family formals and hurried inside for cocktail hour. Just before the hour was up, the sun came back out. Naturally, I had to drag Sara and Alex back outside for a few more romantic bride and groom portraits!

After taking some more photos, we headed back inside so the reception could begin! Sara and Alex shared their first dance, followed by a toast from Sara’s father and the best man, Sam. Both speeches brought out laughter and tears! After dinner was served and eaten, Sara shared a dance with her father, and Alex danced with his mother. Watching these dances made my heart swell. The relationships between the people of this family are truly special.

Soon after, dessert was served! This wasn’t just any dessert… the servers set this dessert on FIRE! Yes, you read that correctly.

A huge thank you to Sara and Alex and their families for trusting me to capture such a momentous occasion. Your summer wedding was truly beautiful!
