Adventure Elopement Styled Shoot

Last Sunday, the adventure elopement styled shoot that I had been planning for months finally came together. With everything going on, I was missing weddings and itching to be creative, so organizing this shoot was the perfect remedy! I chose Foss Mountain in Freedom, New Hampshire as our location, as it is known for having the most spectacular views and sunsets. Everything came together so perfectly, from the weather to the vendors I partnered with. I knew this was going to be an amazing day!

After we wrapped up hair and makeup at 5 Diamond Salon, we started heading up north. Our models, Victoria and Brian, took their own car, while Alexa (my videographer and fabulous assistant) and I drove separately. Alexa and I took a pit stop at the florist’s house to pick up the masterpieces she created for us, then arrived at the base of the mountain shortly after! Victoria and Brian arrived later (after getting a little lost and off-roading in their Lexus!), and we began shooting. One of my favorite parts about this shoot was that Victoria and Brian are engaged in real life, so they were able to treat this adventure elopement like a practice run! Brian had never seen Victoria in a wedding dress before either, so when we staged the first look, he was TRULY in awe! They were so precious, it made my heart melt. After reading some corny jokes to each other that Alexa and I wrote in their vow books earlier that day, we started up the mountain to catch the sunset.

All of the rumors that I had heard about Foss Mountain were true. The sunset was INCREDIBLE! I think each one of us gasped when we reached the top of the mountain. The view simply took our breath away. We continued shooting for another hour until we didn’t have a drop of light left. I was swooning behind my camera the entire time.

When I arrived home that night at 11:30, I immediately uploaded the photos to my computer and began editing. I believe I was awake until around 2 AM, as I kept saying to myself “I’ll just edit one more…”.
