Waterfront Wedding at The Margate

I recently captured Libby and Dylan’s gorgeous waterfront wedding at The Margate, located in Laconia NH. This amazing venue sits on the beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee, providing breathtaking lake views. Even though their summer wedding day included a few rain showers, we didn’t let that stop us from capturing their wedding portraits outside along the water. Before the rain rolled in, Libby and Dylan got ready in separate suites.

Libby wore her grandmother’s bracelet and had the most amazing embroidered veil featuring green vines and flowers. Similar white flowers accented by greenery made up her bridal bouquet. Dylan, on the other hand, brought along his fun reception shoes!

Once ready, Libby shared a special first look with her dad before taking a few portraits outside with her bridesmaids who wore floor length dresses in different styles and various shades of sage green. I loved the various looks that all came together perfectly!

Libby and Dylan’s wedding ceremony took place under the pavilion with beautiful views of the lake as their backdrop. While the cloud coverage was thick, you could still see the mountains out on the horizon.

After the ceremony, we ventured out to the docks for their portraits armed with clear umbrellas. They were so brave going out in the downpour! However, there is something about their wedding photos in the rain that is extra romantic. It was heartwarming to see them both so happy despite the less than ideal weather. They were all smiles and their love and joy is evident in each of their photos!

Once the newlyweds had enough of the rain, we headed back to their tented reception which also offered a gorgeous waterfront setting. The couple decided to forgo the traditional wedding cake and instead served Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream! It was a fun and delicious wedding day dessert! Later in the evening when the rain finally stopped for a few moments, we snuck back outside for more portraits around the gorgeous property!
