This past weekend, I had the honor of capturing the most beautiful proposal at Sabbaday Falls. Corey reached out to me a few weeks ago about proposing to his girlfriend, Kori, during their couples session, and my answer was an excited YES! I absolutely adore capturing proposals. The tears, the laughter, and the genuine emotion remind me of why I love my occupation so much.
I instantly started chatting with Corey about the best way to go about it, including a secret code to signal when it was “go-time”. We landed on one of my favorite prompts. It involved placing them 10 feet apart, facing away from each other, so that on the count of three they could turn around and run towards each other like they haven’t seen one another in a year! The warm embrace that comes from this prompt is one of my favorites. It was the perfect way to get Kori to turn around and see Corey down on one knee!
On the day of the shoot, we had sunny skies and fresh snow. It was perfect! We started walking along the trail to get to the falls, stopping a few times along the way for photos. Once we reached the falls and found a wide open spot, I told them the prompt. This way, Corey knew that it was his time to shine! Kori turned around in time for Corey to get the ring out of his pocket and pop a knee. The reaction on Kori’s face was truly priceless, and I felt so lucky to be there to witness and capture the moment.
After some happy tears and big hugs, we took a few more photos, including some with their corgi! It was only right that he was there to celebrate the moment with them, and he did his best not to steal the show 😉
Here are some of my favorite images from this beautiful proposal at Sabbaday Falls…
Their corgi, Cub, seemed embarrassed by all of the love he was receiving from mom and dad!
The look of utter shock on Kori’s face was my favorite!
Then the happy tears arrived ❤️
Corey made the ring box himself, and featured a snail on the top because they are Kori’s favorite!
